More recently, the Xiaomi Mi 5X leaked for the first time in the past week, now the company has officially launched the Xiaomi Mi 5X today at an event in China. The Mi 5X will be the first smartphone to run on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat 7.1.1. Registrations for the first sale of the Mi 5X are already open and it crossed 800,000 registrations till now. The first sale will take place on August 1 in China.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X is priced at 1,499 Chinese Yuan (roughly Rs 14,500). The Mi 5X will come in three color variants — Black, Gold and Rose Gold (Pink). In future, the company can also release the smartphone in other color variants as well. This time company launched only a single RAM/Storage variant — 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage.
Xiaomi Mi 5X Specifications and features
The Xiaomi Mi 5X sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) LTPS display. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at up to 2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The Xiaomi Mi 5X is backed by the 3080mAh battery.
The smartphone features a dual rear camera setup (12-megapixel wide-angle with 1.25-micron pixel sensor and f/2.2 aperture, and a 12-megapixel telephoto with 1-micron pixel sensor and f/2.6 aperture) and also portrait mode is given, similar to the iPhone 7 plus and the OnePlus 5. On the front, It has a 5-megapixel camera with real-time beautification.
Connectivity options of the phone include 4G VoLTE connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, GPS/ A-GPS and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. A fingerprint scanner is given on the rear side of the phone.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X also comes with DHS Audio Calibration Algorithm for high-quality audio output and a standalone audio amplifier for improved quality via headphones.
