Xiaomi confirmed the launch of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 for May 25. Mi Max 2 will be the successor of the Mi Max which was launched last year. It will sport a 6.44 inch display, come with 5000mAh Battery and 128 GB Internal memory. It will come with USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. The device is tipped to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 8.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is likely to come in two variants: One with 4GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor and the other with 6GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. On the camera front, the Mi Max 2 will reportedly come with a 12-megapixel — Sony IMX378 — sensor on the rear and a 5-megapixel sensor on the front. None of the specifications are official yet.
As per GizmoChina, the original Mi Max isn’t listed on the Mi mall site right now. That combined with the May 25 date suggests that Xiaomi may be thinking of outing the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 sooner rather than later. The publicity blitzkrieg for the smartphone is apparently going to kick off from May 16.
As for the price, an earlier rumor hints that the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 price may be adjusted slightly but will still fall between 1499 Yuan(roughly Rs 13930) and 1699 Yuan(approx Rs 18580), not exceeding 1999 Yuan at most.
Last year, Xiaomi was claimed to have managed to ship 1.5 million units of the Mi Max in the two months since its launch in China.
